Are you living with HIV?
We’d love for you to take part in the survey. Please keep reading to understand why your input is so important.
If you’re living with HIV, this page is for you. We’re specifically looking for diagnosed people living with HIV to take the SPOTS survey, because we need an updated understanding of:
If and how you are incorporating U=U and biomedical prevention into your sex life
If you are having your sexual health care needs met
How you feel about blood donation in the context of U=U
We specifically want you to provide a dried blood spot sample, because we want a better understanding of undiagnosed hepatitis C and syphilis in our community. We especially want this understanding from gay/bi men who are living with HIV, because there is treatment and cure available for these conditions.
If you provide a dried blood spot, you have the chance to be invited back into future research related to these important community issues.
Confidentiality
The survey is completely anonymous (we don’t ask for names), so you can feel safe disclosing your behaviour, experiences and attitudes
We only collect names and addresses to ship the dried blood spot collection kits and give people results (if they opt in). These are kept completely separate from someone’s survey responses.
You can opt into receiving your dried blood spot results (or not) - for syphilis and hepatitis C there is personal and community benefit from knowing your status
Once all results have been delivered and the fieldwork has ended, all names and addresses will be deleted from the study database (kept separate from survey responses).
